Most cabins in River Village are made of yellow pine logs. These duplex cabins have a bunkroom and restroom for the cabin group on each side. In summer camp there are at least two college age counselors for each cabin group of 9-10 campers. Campers like having porches with picnic tables for being with friends. Inside, the built-in bunk beds each have space for a camper’s personal stuff like toiletries, books, etc. and space underneath for duffel, trunk or suitcases.
They are the setting for cabin devotions and sometimes rainy day games. The cabins are heated in winter and have large attic fans for great air-turnover in summer. The restrooms in each side of the cabin provide campers with 2 sinks, 2 toilets and 2 showers per cabin group. Campers love their cabin homes and develop a strong sense of belonging with their counselors and cabinmates.
