Equestrian Weekend Employment

Each weekend in the spring and fall, Camp Tecumseh serves a variety of guests through
our Retreats Department. During their stay, they have the option to take a trail ride
through our Pine Forest. The Camp Tecumseh equestrian department is looking for
qualified persons to come in on the weekends and work with the trail ride program.
This position involves working with kids, adults, and horses, and being outside, rain or
shine, and on your feet the entire day.
Workday starts at 7 am on Saturdays and goes
until approximately 5:30 pm. Some Sundays are required, but would be done by 12:30
at the latest. Position involves grooming, saddling, and bridling the horses, getting the
weekend guests mounted and dismounted, walking the trail ride trail alongside the guests
to be of assistance, being on the lookout for their safety at all times, and performing any
barn chores.
We are willing to teach you basic saddling and bridling but you must be
comfortable around horses and be able to pay close attention to details and safety. Horse
experience and knowledge a plus. Meals are provided by camp, including breakfast,
lunch, and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sundays. Starting pay is $7.75/hour.
