Helen Keller once said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world can not be seen or even touched, but must be felt with the heart.” Camp Tecumseh experiences are like that, felt with the heart. Giving comes from the heart as well and we want to invite you to be part of a long and important tradition at Camp Tecumseh. Each year many members of the YMCA Camp Tecumseh family make contributions to the “Making a Difference” fund. Giving to Camp allows you to support an organization where you can see the good work first hand. You can visit Camp Tecumseh personally, talk with me, even get feedback from current campers. We want you to see what your support is doing to make a difference in the development of young people!

• New program initiatives such as the Threehouse Treehouse or new lake equipment, things that benefit all campers.
• The Christian emphasis program such as providing Pathlight Bibles to campers, new sound equipment for camp’s chapels, or resource materials for cabin devotions.
• Providing ‘camperships’ for low-income children whose families cannot afford the full fee themselves. This allows Camp Tecumseh to have a more diverse camper population and allows some great kids to attend Camp Tecumseh that could never do so without the help of folks like you. Last year more than 500 children received some level of fee assistance to attend Tecumseh summer programs!
• Or you can make your gift unrestricted so it can be used where it is most needed at the time.

“Camp for me is the highlight of my summer! I learn so much, become closer to God, and learn how to communicate better! Thank you so much for allowing me to experience this.” 

A father said, “ The camperships could not have come at a better time for my girls. Their mother’s health is failing and life at home is not as easy or as pleasant as a father would like. Camp Tecumseh allowed for an escape from the stress and responsibilities these girls now face at home. Thanks to you and your contributors from the bottom of my heart.”

A 14 year old girl shared this (part of a long thank you letter): “My counselors always encouraged me, or made me laugh when need be, or at times would lend a shoulder to cry on. I got very, very close with one of my counselors and in the end she gave me a gift that she had worn all through the summer. It was something very dear to her that I now cherish. Someday I want to be a counselor too.”

Camp transforms young lives in so many ways---but we couldn’t provide these experiences without the help of generous partners in “Making a Difference” and shaping the future literally one youngster at a time.
