Last weekend the rainy weather stopped the girl scout troop from having the campfire program that they really looked forward to. So staffers Jordan Seeger and Meghan Codd gave them their very own ‘campfire’ program right inside their cabin!!!

REPEAT AFTER ME!
The girls loved it. What a great example of Tecumseh staff going ‘above and beyond’ to see the campers have a memorably wonderful experience!

"I said a Boom Chicka Boom!"
Hooray for Jordan and Meghan! Exceptional Job!
Beatlemania is in the air this week at Camp due to Quilt Camp’s “Strawberry Fields Forever” theme. There are 59 quilters participating in Camp’s 99th Quilt Camp.

"Is that name tag quilted?????"
The Quilters could arrive as soon as Sunday afternoon and will be here through Friday. Everyone enjoys quilting but they especially love the community and family atmosphere.

Quilting is always more fun as a group sport.
The ladies will typically take a break now and then to get outside but they had a unique opportunity Tuesday to try the Zipline across the lake. The nearly 700 feet of “zipping” was truly a thrill as they took on the challenge two at a time. It was especially fun to see a mother and daughter combo experience it together.

Fun! Fun! Fun!

"No one will believe we did it unless they see a picture of it."
Okay! Back to quilting.
The Journey Fellowship for New Professionals in Youth Work, a year-long program, provides an opportunity for aspiring youth workers, who are new to their profession a collegial atmosphere in which to jump start their experience and contribution within the field. The Journey is home to professional development programs designed to help students and practicing professionals in youth development begin and renew their careers.

Early Morning Trail Ride
Professional development retreats are an integral part of the fellowship program and the Tecumseh Leadership Center was a perfect location to reflect, recharge and relax. Retreat participants were able to enjoy the beauty of camp on an early morning trail ride.

Staff Alumni Weekend Nov 5-6
Come join us for another Partner’s Service Day.

Fall 2010
There will be several projects for the day but the big one is blazing a trail to Camp’s new “Gish Adventure Outpost property”. This is a great opportunity to spend time with your family helping others and to model volunteering.

Please send me an email vincep@camptecumseh.org so that I know how many to expect for the day. We start at 9:30 am in the Lake Village parking lot and stop for a grilled lunch around noon. Come for the day or as much of it as you can. It is always a great time.

Planting flowers
Staff Alumni are encouraged to come for the service day as well and then spend the night. We are planning on Hobo Dinners and singing around the campfire. Cabin space is limited so call for more details and register soon. We are looking forward to a great time!
