What to Expect for Troops, Groups, and Tribes

Get ready for a weekend of fun and friendship.

Camp Tecumseh YMCA serves hundreds of groups every year, ranging in size from 10 up to 600. These groups include Guides and Princesses, Girl Scout and Cub Scout troops, church youth groups, and more. Groups continue to return because of our staff and the wide variety of activities we offer.

Arrival

Most groups arrive on Friday afternoon. Friday check-in starts at 4:30 p.m. When you arrive, go to the Lake Village Trading Post to check in. A staff person will be present to check you in until 9:00 p.m. After 9:00 p.m., a sign will be posted outside each trading post directing you to the appropriate cabin. You may check in the next morning at the trading post.

If you arrive on Saturday, go to Trading Post of the village that you are staying at. Look for signage to direct you.

Note: Camp Tecumseh is on Eastern time and we observe daylight saving time. That means we’re on the same time as Indianapolis and one hour ahead of Chicago.
