What to Expect on Check Out Day
Sadly, our campers can’t stay here all year.
Whether it’s the last day of a weeklong camp or the end of the day for day camp, we’re all about safety when campers and their families leave Camp Tecumseh. Here’s what to except during pick-up.
Check out for Overnight Camp and Equestrian Camp
Pick-up is Saturday morning between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., Eastern time. Please pick up your camper at his/her cabin first and talk with the counselors about how the week went. Then come to Kampen Lodge at the Lake Village to pick up the camper’s check-out envelope. It will have their Trading Post balance, a camp evaluation form, and your village photo if you ordered one. We will also have registration forms for next summer and any medications you have left with us.
If your camper is staying for a second week, you may pick up your camper for the entire weekend or for just a couple of hours for lunch on Saturday. If you do so, please check your camper out with our staff at Kampen Lodge and check them back in with the staff when you return.
Pick up for Day Camp
Pick up is from 3:00 to 3:20 p.m. On every day of camp, you will park in the Day Camp parking lot and your child’s counselors will be waiting for you. You will need to sign your camper out with his/her counselor every afternoon.
Day campers must be picked up by an adult (18 and over) who is listed on the transportation form. If at any time there is a change in transportation arrangements, you must provide a written note to camp IN ADVANCE stating the change. Please be prepared to show ID if it is your first time picking up.
If your child is taking the bus, refer to the Day Camp Busing page for pick up and drop off details.
Check out for Adventure Trips
Campers taking a trip return to camp on Friday evening before dinner. They will then enjoy closing campfire along with all the rest of campers and are picked up by parents in the Two Sisters Library in Kampen Lodge on Saturday morning between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m., Eastern time.
