Brownie Taster
Here is a program for the young horse enthusiast. This program introduces brownies to the horse in a fun and educational way. During the Brownie Taster the brownie will:
- Learn the correct names for colors and markings
- Learn some parts of the saddle and bridle
- Get a chance to groom and saddle a horse
- Get a chance to take a trail ride in our beautiful pine forest
This fun filled program is available on Sunday afternoons and lasts for about two hours. The cost is only $12 per girl and includes the trailride. |

Horse Fan
Camp Tecumseh also offers a fun way of earning the Girl Scouts Horse Fan Badge! This program is available Sunday afternoons and takes about three hours. The cost is only $18 (including trailride) for each girl. The girls will get the opportunity to:
- Groom and saddle a horse
- Learn the parts of the horse, the saddle and bridle
- Discover nutritional requirements and health care of the horse
- Learn to take care of a saddle and bridle and how to dress when riding
- Take trail ride in our beautiful pine forest
- And much more!

Horse Sense
Camp Tecumseh offers a fun way to earn the Horse Sense badge for cadets in middle and high school. This program takes place on Sunday afternoons for about three hours. The cost is $22 per girl. Each girl will get to learn:
- Horse safety rules
- How to groom and saddle a horse
- The parts of the saddle, bridle and horse
- Different careers that involve horses
- Different riding styles and the tack that goes with themWhat all is involved in owning a horse and caring for all its nutritional and health needs.
- How to asses different horses and pick out your “perfect horse”
- Take a trail ride through our beautiful pine forest.
