Giving Back
FALL PARTNER SERVICE DAY
Community service is a vital part of the Tecumseh mission and every May we welcome back members of the Tecumseh family to get back and give back to camp.
On Saturday, May 7th, we welcomed back a number of the Tecumseh family to make improvements to Camp. Projects included preparing summer camp sleep out spots, clearing out the Day Camp site, mulching around newly planted trees, and planting flowers.
This season’s youngest volunteer.

Just in time for beautiful weather, volunteers plant flowers in the river village flower beds. .

Volunteers prepare the Day Camp site for the upcoming summer by raking up the overgrowth and smoothing out the soil.
The overgrowth is loaded into tarps and dragged to a burn pile

Mulch is added to the shelters in the Pine Forest, making a perfect natural bed for sleep outs.
Adding mulch around newly planted trees keeps them healthy by decreasing competition from other plants like grass, and keeps them from getting hit by the lawnmower.
We’re tremendously grateful for the volunteers who make every partner service day possible. If you or your organization are interested in participating in future partner service days or are seeking community service work, contact Tom Elliott to find out how you can help improve the camp experience for thousands of kids.
